Design You will demonstrate exceptional design, modeling, and graphic skills, with the ability to independently develop creative design concepts throughout all project phases. In collaboration with the Director of Design, you will establish design methodologies and strategies for each project, ensuring cohesive solutions that balance pragmatism with innovation. Your role will also involve actively promoting and embodying the office’s Mission and Values, emphasizing curiosity, inclusion, social responsibility, and craftsmanship through a collaborative design approach—both within the office and with external partners. Additionally, you will contribute to regular project design charrettes and discussions, offering critically constructive input to team members. You will be responsible for preparing presentation and design documentation, demonstrating your expertise from Concept Design through Construction Administration. This position requires minimal technical supervision, reflecting your proficiency and independence in executing the design process. Project Execution We cultivate a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment and seek individuals who will embrace these values while taking on the responsibility of supervising and mentoring staff. With strong organizational skills, you will ensure the timely and accurate completion of plans, specifications, material approvals, and construction tasks. You will oversee the interpretation, organization, execution, and coordination of assignments, exercising professional independent judgment. For more complex or unique issues, you will collaborate with senior leaders for technical guidance and overall project approval. Additionally, you will direct and coordinate the consultant team, ensuring that the project team adheres to the firm's project delivery processes and standards. Depending on the scope and complexity of the project, you may also be assigned certain Project Management responsibilities. Team Leadership & Culture Ambassador We will expect you to leverage your communication skills to promote team unity, working effectively alongside both internal and external collaborators. You will foster professional relationships within project teams and take on a leadership role as a champion for others. By building trust through empathetic listening and providing technical and design mentorship, you will guide and support team members, overseeing their development while ensuring a collaborative, growth-oriented environment. It’s essential that you are able to actively champion our Mission and Values—curiosity, inclusion, social responsibility, and collaborative design—both within the office and beyond. Our internal culture is engaging, fun to work with, and eager to make a meaningful impact in everything they do. Quality Control and Technical Leadership Collaborating with Practice leadership, you will help to ensure project documentation meets firm-wide and specific Client standards, as well as code and agency compliance. Marketing and Business Development In certain situations, you will actively pursue business development opportunities and participate in marketing interviews, while also fostering and maintaining strong relationships with both client management and staff. You will ensure continued collaboration and trust. As a representative of the firm, we would look for you to engage in industry and professional events, maintaining an active presence and contributing to the firm’s growth and reputation. Qualifications
BArch or MArch from accredited university Professional licensure in California required Minimum 12 years of related professional experience required Experience with Revit, Rhino, Adobe Suite, Lumion, digital fabrication, Microsoft Office, hand sketching, etc. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States Compensation is commensurate with experience. Annual salary ranges from $125,000 to $145,000 + benefits package.
