This incredible program introduces middle-school girls from underserved communities in LA to the fundamentals of architecture, inspiring them to see the built environment as something they, too, can shape.
With so few women in architecture, engineering, and construction, it’s essential to show young girls that a career in the industry is not only attainable but full of creative opportunity. Representation and early exposure matter—these formative years are when dreams take root.
One of the highlights of the day was seeing the girls bring their ideas to life through a model-making exercise, designing their own entry spaces. It was just as inspiring to hear them talk about their favorite school subjects—so many already gravitate toward STEAM!
