This color study drawing by Cesar Arias Arias brings to life a piece of our vision for the historic Azusa Santa Fe Depot.
We’re working with City of Azusa to transform this historic structure into a regional transit plaza that will support Los Angeles Metro rail commuters and the public.
Increasing use of public transit requires smart design that encourages people to connect with and experience the city in new ways. This illustration captures how our design is bridging the past and present. Respecting the 1930s renovation in the historic ‘streamline moderne’ style, we’ve kept the structure accurate by working with our historic preservation consultant.
The renovated building creates a welcoming plaza, a transit store, and bike storage to connect the city of Azusa and surrounding communities through public transit that is accessible and inviting. We’re so grateful to our studio member, Cesar, for his artistry that reflects the detailed work that goes into making these spaces cherished places for the community.
