Palisades Charter Elementary School

Complete Campus Revitalization and 14 New Classrooms

The restoration of Palisades Charter Elementary School is a comprehensive campus reconstruction effort developed in response to the January 2025 Palisades Fire, which destroyed significant portions of the school. The project replaces lost facilities while reestablishing a cohesive, resilient campus that supports students, educators, and the surrounding community in a fire-impacted environment.

The scope includes fourteen new classrooms, administrative spaces, a multipurpose room, maintenance facilities, two resource specialist rooms, and a lunch shelter, integrated with restored buildings upgraded for re-occupancy. The campus is organized around interwoven courtyards and outdoor learning environments that strengthen connections between buildings and landscape, while respecting the historic fabric and ensuring a clear sense of place upon entry.

A mission-style white shell unifies new and existing structures, allowing buildings to act as thresholds between indoor and outdoor space rather than isolated objects. Approved by the Board in June 2025 as part of a major modernization and campus reconfiguration effort, the project is anticipated to be complete by late 2028.
